While at Ariana Fox's home studio she showed us how she makes a pair of earrings from start to finish. She shares some tips, tricks, and fun idiosyncrasies unique to her self-taught process.

There are crafts that require specialized equipment or a large workspace, and that makes many of them seem impenetrable. The magic of jewelry is that it's small. The dinner table or your desk at work are perfectly suitable locations for making. There are many accessible entry points into jewelry making as well: clay, textiles, simple metal bends, beads and wire, or prefabricated pieces assembled. It's not all fire and gemstones.

Jewelry isn't one thing and this video gives insight into a singular person's process, on a single day, for a single pair of earrings. Ariana's path involved specific trials and errors and interests to get her to where she is now. Most importantly she loved doing it.
