Figuring out what you enjoy doing takes time, and then you spend the time learning and getting better. For Lincoln Pollock neither one was an impediment. Growing up, he’d hop from hobby to hobby. After watching a YouTube video he finally landed on one that stuck: jewelry making. It became more than a hobby. And it didn’t happen overnight.

Half a decade ago he didn’t know how to do any of this, and he now has a workshop and retail space on Main Street in Warren RI, regularly vends at markets, and crafts custom work for clients.

Wood, metal, flowers, stained glass – just some of the unique materials that Lincoln uses in his jewelry. He combines traditional jewelry making and woodworking techniques to create essentially one of a kind pieces of jewelry. While he started out with rings, he’s expanded his offerings into collections ranging from earrings and pendants to bracelets and cuff links. All made with a focus on simple forms, natural materials, and sustainability.

Although he’s a self-described introvert, Lincoln finds himself nearly every weekend at a craft show or market or festival. Speaking with strangers wasn’t comfortable, but he persisted. He says it’s because his ambition and passion overpowered the anxiety and awkwardness. “Now, I love it.”

Trial, error, and ambition got him to where he is now and will continue to guide him into the future. His advice: just because you aren’t “naturally gifted” doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try something.
